I have an idea, actually a thesis for a paper I am doing, not saying it would work, but just looking at the concept.. as far as poker runs go.. we know they are not a race *cough* and there are a lot of "pleasure" boats that are faster than most race boats yet lack the safety characteristics of a race boat. now this is NOT directred at ANY incident in particular or person... what about if anyone entering a poker run in a boat capable of 100+ speed was required to take Tres's class or similiar and become 'certified' to 'evaluated' in the skills to run over 100. also being required to wear helmets and jackets. since these classes can positively effect private ins. costs would it not pos. effect the poker runs ins costs? would it not be a positive effect on the safety of events? thinking that basically anyone with a pocketfull of money can go by a 150 mph "pleasure" boat these days, reguardless of skill.
