They certainly made some sick power, but it was also 22psi of boost! Its very, very hard to have a reliable engine package on gasoline with 22psi. I think power would be closer to mid 1500 to low 1600 with 15psi which is still great. Turbo's at this point would be near the 2000hp range (22psi) but turbo lag is extremely difficult to get around as well as low end torque, and lets face it, some of these big boats with big props, high gears need lots of torque down low.

We run an honest 14 to 16lbs of boost on 93 pump gas and methanol injection with our 565 CI ,1471 high helix blowers ,hydraulic rollers, spin 6500rpms every time out and only need 30 degrees of lead to attain well over 1400hp on pump gas with this set up.
We now have 200+ hrs and currently leek down at 9% cold.

We haven't tested it yet but I would think that the new Whipple spun to the moon on meth would be lethal as hell.
Just be sure to have a few spare #6 drives in stock.

Its stating to get old we just blew our Starboard drysump 6 on Tuesday.

We are pulling it later today, thats 5 drives in two seasons.

The down side to our sick acceleration rush!

We Run Whipple R980's Which Are A Big Screw Blower Built For Alcohol Drag Cars. We Picked Up Over 200 Hp Over A Conventional 1471. Plenty Boost And No Heat. Look In The Picture Section At The White 40 Ft Motion Or Ask Goldman How Howard's Boat Runs With Them
Down Side They Are Bigger Than A Psi
Up Side You Can Pick Them Up For Around 4500 Each
