Default Self Protection Boating

I have a standard Remington 870 short barrel now but have ordered this since the rig will be in Florida over the winter and this looks like it would deal with the salt environment better.

Also carry a Springfield 1911-A1 .45 Stainless but nothing beats a pump in my opinion.

The other thing is I an bringing some skeet to pass time on the way down to Florida, gotta find sh!t to do when you only cruise at 25 mph!

What is everyone carrying?

Binelli Super Sport. Very good all around gun. Everyone at the range loves mine and most people will shoot it over their guns because it hits the clays so hard. Had a guy last week that could not break 9 out of 25, picked up my gun and hit 16.

You guys are carrying these guns on the boat? I guess I never thought about carrying on the water. But maybe that's because I am not in the ocean. I hunt and own many guns, maybe it's something to think about. By the way GL, the 1911 is a nice gun.

Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30 in stainless with synthetic stock and factory 20 round mags. They are dead reliable.

Shotguns are great for close range but nothing beats being able to shoot a few rounds across the bow of an enemy at 200 yards. This keeps them away. Empty a 20 round clip in their general direction and they will change their minds about approaching you.

Usually, just a Ruger 9mm 2 clips. However May need to do a full Gulf crossing in a slow sail boat and was thinking of taking my AR 15, and 12 gage pump. No one to call 100miles out.
