you should ask this in the scarab section, probably get some help.

More than likely it originally had Merc 420's. I would definately go with bigger power.

With a small blower and diffrent pistons to mach the blower you should get easy 550-600 HP.:ernaehrung004: |
OK, you aquired a big boat that needs power and drives. Well guessing by the age your going to need so much more, rigging, wiring, motor mounts, cables, K-Planes??, Trim pumps, OMG the list goes on. From some one who does this for a living, find a totaled boat you can strip LIKE THIS ONE.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Boats...=p4506.c0.m245 Not only will it have everything you need and more, you will know how it goes on because you will have taken it off. WILL:ernaehrung004: |
guys the boat already has everthing/trim pumps cables looms and wiring really need two motors and drives, i can post a few pics of the boat as weve got it so far,if i ever figure out how, thanks guys.

Most 38KV's were rigged with TRS drives, Konrad Marine's 540 sterndrive system is a bolt on package for the long discontinued Merc TRS.
Check it out at www.konradmarine.com or send me an email direct at [email protected] and I'll send the brochure and pricing. Kurt |
that Formula would be the perfect parts boat. You could get that boat cheaper than buying the rest of stuff needed for the KV. You have to be real careful, choosy, and do a lot of work yourself or you will get in extremely deep on the Scarab project.

yes guys i dont doubt this is a good deal, but the fact that we are in ireland/uk,shipping that lot back simply for this project i believe, the costs involved would be crazy, surely there must be someone private or indeed a reputable dealer in the states that will work a deal with us and sort shipping back to ireland at a sensible price, any ideas, cheers.
