Default Gas up from $5.20 to $5.50 in last 2 weeks WTF? Lake Travis, Austin TX

I went to the marina Sunday to fuel up expecting prices might have come down a little in the last couple of weeks. It was up to $5.49! Two weeks ago I paid $5.20. This was on Lake Travis - Austin Texas.

Anyone else experiencing a recent spike in prices on the water?

It sounds like your Marina is ripping you off.... According to Clay gas is going down in Austin not going up?? I realize its on the water but there should only be 20-30 cent delta not several dollars of a difference!!!!!!!

I checked at three different marinas. All were between $5.20 and $5.50 on Lake Travis. I thought it sounded like a rip off as well.

It makes me miss my Formula 357 which I could trailer up to the corner gas station. I can't do that anymore with the 400SS.

Man we are getting ripped off. $5.50! I about sh*t when I saw it.

Where is Clay? Surely he knows where the cheapest gas is on Lake Travis. I looked at Emerald point and then at two Marinas up in the Sandy Creek area.

Clay Help!

I bought 100 gallons this past weekend for my 400SS, $3.49 a gallon on the water....

Does Texas have some lake tax on gas or something that just doesnt seem right??

Hey Brent, I didn't know you'd gotten a 400..Cool. Where do you keep it? I've got a customer that keeps his 400 at North Shore. It's named "Toxic Waste". I installed Whipple superchargers on it last year. It really runs nice. Hard to believe a boat that large running 70+ mph.

Hi Bob!

Good to hear from you. Hope you're doing well. I still haven't seen your new shop.

Yes, I bought a 400SS a few months ago. You know I sold the 357 when we had a baby on the way and figured now it was time to get back into boating with something a little more family friendly.

I saw you mention in another thread about the 400SS you put the blowers on. It sounds awesome (but expensive). I actually like mine with the stock 500EFIs. For now it is fast enough for us (I still have the small kiddos on it). But, I sure like the idea of adding the blowers and changing the drives in the future.

I would love to be able to take the 400 to you like I did the 357. You always took great care of me. I've tried to think of a way to do it. But I am near Carlos and Charlie's and don't have a trailer for it. I am keeping it on a lift at Paradise Cove Marina.

How did you service the other 400SS? Did he have a trailer for it and trailer it over to you?

Brent
