the transom housings have a wedge plate between them and the hull the reason is for clearence and cg the five step boats run really flat ( skater -Ol) so the motors still are facing down when running. If you had two right hand rotation motors on a 16 degree transom angle the motors would be much higher hence with the high horsepower in a small boat would make it a handful to drive. the wedges make the transom angle to 10 degrees which also gives you a higher x dimension on small freboard boat

hope this helps

Are you saying the Skater and OL are alike?

Although this boat has a small extension box between the drive and the transom, I don't think it is a wedge. I am not in front of the boat right now, but I will check later. It has a few inches of setback, but it looks parallel. Maybe I'm wrong, but if it is a wedge, it is a very small change. It also has 4 steps, 2 larger and 2 smaller. Thanks for the response, Eddie.

Got the second engine in and man is it tight in there. Started mocking up and making templates for the tailpipes. I'm using 4" pvc pipe and fittings. I used a toilet flange bolted to the headers, since the tailpipes bolt up instead a band clamp like CMI uses. It really worked out great. Here are a few shots. Enjoy, Eddie.

Here are a few shots from between the two engines. This is the area between the rear of the front engine and the front of the rear engine. I still have to clamp up a few hoses that are in the way.
