Had a friend pulling a 272 baja it was only a single with a 2500hd chevy came up on a stop to fast no brakes on trailer jack-knifed and slid across 4 lanes of traffic!! No one hit him unbeleivable they didnt!!!
So pulling some twins with a 1500 all I can say is GOOD LUCK during the emergency stopping!!

btw, what does that twin bb look like in the water? Does it porpoise at speed?

Why cut down the guys boat when all he was trying to do was help the guy out? AT's aren't perfect either.
I do think his weight is off. Mine doesn't weigh any more than 9000lbs full of fuel, including the trailer. When his boat was made they didn't count the swim platform in the length.
I think the suburban would be maxed out. Loaded full of people - probobly over capacity.

WAY over what you want to tow with a 1/2 ton Suburban. Check the first post in the truck/trailer section, and you can find out your exact capacity.
The biggest pitfall is the coil-spring rear suspension in that Suburban. It's the equivalent of a Chevy Cavalier with stiffer springs. One bad hop from the heavy tail end of that twin engine boat, and the back of that Sub is going to be all over the place; and the coil-springs are going to rebound back and forth and front and back, until you are upside down. Top that off with all your passengers, and your in truck cargo, which is already on the rear axle, and also now in peril.
Don't do it.
The most you want to tow with ANY 1/2 ton SUV is about 7500 lbs, which is an average 25-28 foot single engine boat.

He was asking how a 27 foot Fountain is 29 feet. His question was answered. He was not cutting Prostock down. In fact, Prostock is currently enjoying quite a bit of support around here. You?
ATs have nothing to do with it either. That was you trying to poke his boat because you perceived that he poked another's.
Not sure that Prostock needed your protection, Nancy.

I towed my 29 scarab with twins and a steel trailer once with a half ton extended cab chev with the 5.3. I had brakes on all thre axels on the trailer. It was more then the truck wanted. It will work on flat ground but I would not do it long term. I upgraded to a 6.0 liter chev 3/4 ton and it did fine.

Maybe "Pocket Change" and myself shouldn't have been using my Expedition to pull our 42 triple Fountains around?
