Raffle for a 38 Cig Top Gun

Was talking with some friends at the bar last nite and someone came up with the idea of raffling off my Top Gun:
http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o26732-en.html

It sounds like a good idea, and thus I am kinda kicking around the idea.

So this morning I am seeing if there is interest and gathering ideas.

If it gathers enough interest, I can go a few ways:
Offer good odds:
225 tickets @ $800 ea OR 180 tickets @ $1000 ea

or offer lower ticket price:
450 tickets @ $450 ea OR 600 tickets @ $300 ea

or go for super odds and a drawing by Christmas at a much higher ticket price
75 tickets @ $ 2400 ea

I could have all entries sent to my attorney and have him do the drawing once we reach the level needed. I would also video tape the drawing in case anyone wanted to see it.

So is there interest? If so, what price / odds level?
Seems like it would be fun to try.

I like the idea. I saw on the Today Show a few weeks ago where a guy had his house listed for over a year and couldn't sell it. He decided to do a raffle to move it. I don't remember how much the tickets were but he sold the amount needed in like 2 weeks.

Look at the Active Thunder Rafffle and do what ever they didn't in order to be successful. The boat seems fine but their organization of the raffle is/was terrible.

The OSO raffle of the sick guy's Bullet a couple years ago seemed to be successful.

I like your Gun, I would be interested..... that way I can keep my 400SS and have a Top Gun.... Best of both worlds!!! :evilb: :drink: :ernaehrung004:

The Bullet auction went off well and seemed organized, I remember I was having a party at my house that night and Insptech was yelling from my home office for my password so he could get on OSO to see who won as several people at my house had bought tickets...

This boat shows just how bad the market/economy sucks now. A few years ago this thing would have been snatched up in no time. Depending on what the ticket price ends up at, I might buy one. Good luck! That is one beautiful Gun.

Let me know I would buy a ticket or two in a heart beat

I think you need to keep the price in the one hundred to two hundred fifty dollar range. We know you have a nice boat, but if the price of a ticket is to high you won't sell many. The AT raffle started at one thousand but they dropped to two hundred fifty after the negitive response from everyone. They still didn't sell enough tickets yet so they have extended it until Xmas. You may not have enough time to get the word out to have a drawing by Xmas. But I'll take a ticket.

I'm in. I like the better odds. For god sake its a Cigarette. I would do $1000.

At $250 I'd buy a couple

I would say.........go back to the bar. You will never get that many people interested, and what happens in you only sell 10 or 20 tickets? What is the sales price to the winner for tax reasons?
