However as I stated in the beginning, their are more factors that should/and do go into buying a boat, and what is best for one is not always best for all.

As far as size the 38ZR falls in between the 38 and 42 lightnings....if you are going to use the Donzi ZRC as comparison than I guess you have to us the Fountain 42PR ( I don't think that Fountain makes a 38PR) Fountain sent a 42PR to europe this past summer with Merc 662's that ran 115 at the factory...in the big water racing P1 circuit the 38Donzi ruled until the Fountain showed up

Actually the fastes on the lake is a CAT, but the lake doesn't get 6-8 rollers.

I said faster, not fastest! But that is certainly true, I have seen a few fast cats up there. Where do you guys hang? we usually stay @ Bernards....

How about a curve ball?

Velocity 390. Staggard merc 700's, cabin etc., and 115mph.

Consistantly running hard in 3-5' sees is going to beat the cr@p out of any boat with a finished cabin. If that is your primary intended use, I would highly recommned looking into race syle boat like the Donzi ZRC, Fountain PR or better yet a Saber or Apahe. Whatever you do, make sure it has speedmasters.
