I know that is a big thing, but it seems every year in December the ads don't get renewed or people are doing the Xmas thing. Once people are back to work after the new year and the boat shows pick back up the ads will be higher again. It's not that there is a shortage of boats for sale people just are not spending the time to list them right now.

You know I noticed a good indicator at the stores before christmas.

I can't rememebr the last time I saw a credit card be given back to a buyer from a register because it was declined or over the limit. I saw it 3 times in one week the week before christmas. This shows you the amount of strain on the consumer. It could have been from gas on those cards, etc. But the thing is that if you are a week to week guy, you can't catch up on those things, and with refi's and equity problems on houses, that road is out of the picture also.

Scary stuff with unemployment expected to hit 8-9% like it was in the early 80's

We've got a few boats for sale but nothing is moving on the West Coast. We're waiting till after Miami to start advertising again. It's just a waste of $ to do it now with so few buyers.
