We actually pulled it in the shop today to take a look, might at least finish the glass work

Marc, that was a GREAT read on the link you gave about your boat---not just on all the mods you did to your boat, but also I would say that was "back in the day"---it took me back to the early 1980's.
I remember seeing your red 36' Cig/"BAM" periodically as you, Mike Freeman/"DINASOUR" with his yellow 38' Bertram, and the two other black Cigs, "SMOKIN" and "BEAST"
coming over to the west side of Lake Michigan for the offshore races in Saugatuck/and or Grand Haven.
In 1986 I met Jimmy Ariola/"SAVAGE" and his 32' Hustler w/arneson drives, Matt Alanza/"MALINDRINO" and his 30' Carrera, and the husband and wife of "HOMEWRECKER" another 30' Carrera, Scott Duvall and his 30' Carrera and several others from Chicago and Michigan City-----they all came to St. Joseph for the "U-GOTTA REGATTA" weekend. It was a fun run from St. Joe to Saugatuck with stops in South Haven on the way there and back. It was a lot of fun.
You and all the people I have mentioned had offshore boats "back in the day" when I still considered the Offshore Powerboating and the Great Lakes as one of America's final frontiers---I still do, but not quite to the extent it was in the 80's with all the restrictions, etc.
By the way, I don't know if you have already done this yet, but if you haven't yet taken your boat up to Grand Traverse Bay area or Charlevoix, then you should at least ONCE before you're too old.

just my 2-1/2 cents
Worked on tons of supercharged engines with plain ole 088 chevy heads. Don't make as much power as the fancy aftermarket heads but pretty much bulletproof and a hell of lot cheaper
