MMMM... dont remember ever seeing you around back then Sean... Wernt you in Calif back then... At any rate... Look at the entry on the Monza and the lap on the gunwale... Thats like saying that George Bush is a descendent of Albert Einstien.

While were at it... The 28 has a MAJOR flaw... one that I dont think DA would have let go out the door.

That 41 Apache mold was splashed off the Team Apache boat and had steps in it and built the Cigar boat originally

If in fact that's true someone on the west coast has some explaining to do because that's not what was requested, lol. also, I wonder why it was a 36' instead of a 35'? At the end of the day I'm happy I have the extra foot!

Maybe i am wrong ?
But thats what somebody told me that actually was around back then and also worked for Apache.
The only thing that was copied was the hull. And, for the record, the boat that was used was a 35' Cigarette Awesome model.

36' Apache
Daredevil, when Bobby seperated from Ben he decided he wanted to build a 35' so he could compete with the Cafe Racer. He spoke to Ben, cut a deal and "someone" dammed the 41' and sent the result to Bobby... it was 1 ft. longer than expected..

Here's a post directly from Bob, from another board.

This 33’ was a shorten version of the original 36’ - 9 ½' beam Cigarette race boat. After the purchase, Apache Powerboats manufactured it manly as a center console..

The 36' Apache was built out of the 41' Apache mold..

What flaw would that be? A 28 that thinks its a 41?
