Your logic is flawed Sean. If the boat wasnt on its side at 85 mph, I wouldnt have flown out of the bolster... come on man... I expect more from you.. someone who definately knows better. I've always respected you as an independant thinker... you should stop drinking their koolaid

We retooled a completely new 22 hull & deck, using our original 22 sportdeck outboard & I/O boat. We had built quite a few of the original 22's, in just about any configuration of power you could imagine. This original boats true length was 21' 2", but was labeled a 22, to compete with the 22 Velocity of the day. The new 22 Apache was tooled as a splashwell O/B model only, negating the need for Gil brackets, as used on the previous 22's O/B version. At the same time, we tooled a 24 hull only(never finished a deck), which was a highly modified, much improved, hull design, which began as a 22 hull. It had a much wider pad, transom step, & reverse chines. Nice piece. George Linder was asked to fly in and inspect the plug just before molding, and simply stated that he could not have done a better design himself. This hull mold was never used, and was later sold to Magnum Express Powerboats in Pompano, Fl. This same year, we tooled a completely new, top to bottom, 24' Apache Princess. It was 22 degree deadrise, conventional vee, I/O only, with molded-in "euro" swim platforms. Victor Chapman built these in their entirety. These molds were never used & pushed outside to store.
I didnt want to open up the can of worms but yes the outlaw or boss baja comes from the 28 Apache dont know all the facts other than standing around saying hey that looks like my boat......

Yes and the brothers chapman were the sons of Nick.....Ed I can't remember but didn't you work in the stock room at Apache and later went with Danny over to Powerplay???

36' Apache
Wow,

Some entertainment in this thread. I love it!!!

For what it is worth my 1995 36' is infact 36'. I measured it last spring when I needed dimensions for the new trailer winch stand and bow stop that I was having fabricated.

I agree with frank, I also prefer the extra foot..

What's funny is I also measured mine this morning.... I came up with 36' LOA and about 35' from lowest point on the keel to the bow.

Also, the debate on "rocker" is questionable because I also measured the rocker on a 35' Cig and a 38' Cig and the 36' Apache has significantly "less" rocker than either of those models.
