Hustler wants $500.00 for the ladder and 2 years ago it was $250,I snoozed:rolleyes: We tried getting the screws/bolts out of the Ladder tonight,it started cracking the fiberglass, it must have the nut style, nut inserts made into the swim platform when the boat was made, and must of been installed with no anti seize:( its not accessible at all. Any suggestions?

i have not messed with mine yet , but sounds like fun
might mess with it in the spring, might have to get the cuting saw out :D:

If an auto finish (dupont, ppg, sikkens) is used what is the tolerence to being in the water. Would being in the water for a weekend or a week cause problems?

Issue is usually with 2-stage(base-clear)vs with a single stage. A 2-stage is more prone to bubbling between clear & base coats. But, a weekend or week shouldn't be an issue.

Im guessing this or a nut is made into the fiberglass

Paint it!!!

Paint is much easier to clean than gelcoat, however I have seen paint bubble if the boat is left in the water for a long weekend.

Strip,

Just painted my transom.......only regrets is that the paint shop did not take out my exhaust tips because they were afraid of stripping the screws....wish they would have anyway as I would have installed new tips.....only so close they could get around the tips for sanding:mad:
