Remove the plate on the back of the drive and the tie bar mount bolts in. It is also an inspection port for the drive.

Question What price level ???

The new Ilmor Indy drive seems like a really nice piece of engineering as most things they do are.

I would think the P-1 racing in Europe this year if Ilmor participates again will be a wondeful test of this drives strengths and possible weaknesses.

Would someone else confirm a posters price on a 700sci/NXT drive and engine from Mercury at $50-$55K, that sounds way to low from what I've seen previously. Has Mercury Racing dropped their prices??
The Ilmor 725/Indy drive at $75-$80K sounds more like where these packages have priced in the past.
Maybe an economy driven price war is about to take effect, that will be interesting!

Best Regards,

Is it a twin downshaft like the 6?

I believe you are right on the Merc pricing Ray. A few years back (2006) a 600 XR package was listing in the 60s. That was just before the 700s came out. I've never seen the list prices on the 700 NXTs but I would think it would be much more than 50 - 55K.

msrp, is diffrent from what you can buy one for from merc'.if someone want's to flip a unit and make a few grand it can be done at these price's and the way the economy is i can see this going on real soon .

oem , price for the 700 nxt package is between that 50 and 55 k range depending on how many unit's you sell and how much they like you

i have seen the oem price sheet at a builder before .

just like a 525 xr package is 33 to 35 k oem .

my 2 cent's

90 hrs on the set that was on display. Smiles all around.

They are installing a set in a Donzi 38' soon to begin the PR season and demo tour.

Word was it will be available June 1st, 2009.

I was blown away by the knowledge and patience of the reps.

I believe the msrp on the 700/nxt package is 82K. Now, I know you can buy it less on the street and that is not close to what the dealers spend, but that is suggested retail.
Eddie

By the way, that is a good looking drive.
