I haven't followed this arguement in detail but....
Is it because he was in a helicopter that some are getting upset? Because photos have been shown and sold over the years many times over when someone takes them from a stationary point that is not involved with organizing a run (i.e. pics from a bridge, bluff, boat).
I belive most of the photo guys have shot pics at races (from stationary/shore and/or from copter) and sold the pics, not always with the permission of the race organization.
Did freezefram mis rep something? Does it upset some that he didnt' get permission and created competition for photo sales that the organizers would have or could have been selling?
It appears some don't think he did anything wrong and some do.
Just curious.
Either way, the pics are great and theres an easy way to resolve this.....Give a portion of sales to FPC. Possibly even work it out that this can be a working relationship in the future....Just a thought.
