Seemed like a good deal and looked clean.

I passed on the boat. I imagine it's still for sale. I opted to buy a 288 Sunsation MCOB instead.

You won't like the rear bolsters either...

There were some Scarabs on Ebay a while ago that could be had for that, a 29 and 31 I believe?

Both were mid-90's, and looked a lot nicer than this Baja.

You could look at the Baja, and make an offer of what you think it's worth, like 18K or whatever. What does NADA say for it?

Do marinas budge much on pricing?

If they plan on ever selling it they will.

Doesn't hurt to offer, assuming he's not your buddy.

Oh, and it's easy to say you can only get financed at low NADA, etc, which says its worth 19K (plus trailer).

If you check it out, and like it, 18k is what I'd think of offering at most (I actually just spit that out off the top of my head the first time).

In that condition, I would look to spend closer to 20K.
Whole boat is likely to be neglected. If you don't clean the parts you touch, the drivetrain is likely ignored.

They are priced with the idea that they will take in a trade on the sale. If you are a cash buyer, there is usually more room for negotiation.
