The infrared feature is very cool and works great. You can also 'reverse' the camera picture. So when the camera is facing forward you see correctly and when the camera is seeing backword you see correctly. Things worth it's weight in gold.

If not, you could either turn the light on inside. That should be powered through the lighting connector.
