Default Anyone Rember Ghostrider out of Falmouth Cape Cod

Hey anyone rember Ghost Rider an all white boat i'm guessing around 35 feet. Use to run out of little River boat yard in Waquoit bay on the Cape. back in the mid 80's. I was pretty young back then but that was the boat that got me into Go-fast boats.

Ghost Rider is a 28 foot Souter, built in England in the mid 60's. It belongs to veteran Offshore racer Barry Cohen, who bought it from Jim Wynne after he raced it with great success, It is a unique one-off molded plywood hull with amazing lines.

Barry restored it a few years ago and displays it at many events. I believe he still keeps it in Rhode Island.

Not the same boat I have seen the Barcone boat in Newport a few times. This was a traditional go-fast boat.

I sold that boat to in 1988 to the guy on the Cape. It was originally called Looking for Trouble. 38 flat deck Cigarette. 2 540ci N/A Cobra motors with TRS. He put B&M superchargers on it and an arch. He currently owns my old race boat Cigarette Hawk 42 flat deck 3man boat which I had renamed before I sold The Hardway. Chris

Any idea what happen to that boat? Also does he still keep his boat on the cape what was his name. I rember as a kid watching that boat idle by washburn island and open up at the end of the breakwater like it was yesterday.

gents,
The original Souter built in 1964-65, and raced during 1966 undefeated in Europe,, US and the Bahamas, is very much alive and well on her cradle in Clayton, NY. Last on display at the Wooden Boat Museum during the summer of 08. Ghost Rider is well maintained and should see her last action in the Round England 2012. Barry will be 73 and /Ghost Rider 47 at the time. GR should still be gulping 144 gal per hr @ max 90 mph and I will still be on Hi Octane, hanging on. (hopefully). The boat in Falmouth may have been the Ghost/S, an Open Design off the GR and spent a few years at Newport. 30 ft, ctr. console, twin 290hp sterndrivers, with a reverse transom, as GR. Fair Winds and Seas.
