chris my buddy has them drew on his superboat a 75mph boat, and it still chinewalks over 72 mph .if you break the cable the drive will still turn but slower than having no stabilizer at all.you can buy a add on single hydro steering for 1200 or 1300 from cp or diamond marine I think and its a lot better, pm me if I can help locate a new or used system. but don't go stabilizer when for 400 bucks more you can get the real think which could be up graded later to full.

I was just presenting my thoughts and experiences.
My boat has full dual hydraulic to the helm.
I would never go back to cable accuated steering.
