I'd get to know Gary Stray at MTI. He's the one that rigs out all of the MTI's, and has sources for literally everything.

gary made those for gc, but that boat also had a number six helm with a rudder setup so the wheel turned like a go cart keeping those buttons up top. the boat now has a rudder helm to slow the steering down. remember that the wheel won't always stay centered. that piece itself may not even be used anymore as the new owner has updated a few things.

I had a Mach steering wheel on my old rig. It had trim switches built in each of the three spokes and was cordless. Didn't really matter if the wheel did not center with hydraulic steering. Each switch did the same thing - trim both engines. Worked really nice along with the foot throttle. Although, this was over 15 years ago and I don't think Mach is still in business.

I sort of expected that, it has been that way on pretty much all boats I owned Sean. Thanks for moving elbows, wrists and fingers I should be able to reach a little, sort of like yours...

My boat came w/ the Livorsi wireless steering wheel mounted switches & I never use them.

1- Quite a reach w/ the thumb
2- There is a delay from the time one pushes the switch until any action occurs.
3- As mentioned elsewhere steering wheel is rarely ever in the straight position.
