Just wanted to share a couple before and after pics. It's amazing what a little paint will do! The pictures really just don't do the boat any justice, it came out excellent!

Big difference. Looks great. What did you use for materials and about how much of what did you use? Im in the middle of the same project. Hoping mine turns out like that.

To tell you the truth I have no idea how much of anything that was used. I had a guy do the work for me as I did not have a place to do it myself (as much as I really wanted to). I do know he used Diamont (spelling?) single stage paint, I believe he did 4 coats on top of whatever he used for primer, and I forget what he used for primer/sealer. The windscreen I did myself out of 3/4" plywood and the painter fiberglassed it. It's a separate piece that screws down to the boat. I wanted it that way JUST in case something ever happened to it I could remove it and just make another if needed. I also know that he ground out any and all defects in the gel and glassed over them after that.

The whole project was exciting and being able to go see the progress whenever I could get there was the best part! Actually... Now that I'm sitting here typing this I think I remember asking how much paint he needed. I THINK he told me 4 gallons total. I could be wrong, and I'm sure Glassdave would know better than I would. The boat is a 24'. Hope this helps! I have a bunch of pics if you need to see any of the progress let me know.

Speaking of Glassdave- Wow, I got your attention huh? I feel honored now, ha! I've read so many of your threads about painting and repairs it's ridiculous!! I would have loved to have you do my boat, but it just wasn't in the cards. Maybe if you were in NY!
