I thought that they were out of business? I searched posts here on them and it seemed that they had some trouble keeping them in one piece...are you familiar with any of this?

As you may or may not have seen on our website, we have opened Nauti Marine up for full service on high-performance boats. The alcohol engines you are referencing were originally built by Sterling but we brought them in-house and made several vital changes to them. They performed very good on a linear dyno ... :drink:

Not long - there were built just for special applications. Two primary things restrict 100% alcohol motors from normal use. The first is fuel consumption which can exceed twice the amount of an equivalent gas motor but more importantly are the aluminum connecting rods. Alcohol basically "explodes" in the combustion chamber versus "burn" like gas. Aluminum rods "absorb" the explosive shock with each combustion without breaking. However, they will fatigue and stretch rather quickly under full load.
Hope this is helpful ...

What about the biggest offering from Chief? I thought it was in that range.
