I didn't read all the posts, just the first page. Don't beat yourself up over it. I'm in the same situation as you. I've allready dewinterized my boat and now am worried about the low of 29 tonight. I put a single light bulb lamp in my engine hatch, and as long as the electric doesn't go out, I won't worry. But no matter what anyone tells you, You WILL worry all night if you don't do something about it... right??? SO do something, and I think A lamp is good enough to satisfy my thoughts.

I don't have access to a plug in at a motel for the one night I might spend in Kansas:eek:

Here is a picture. Stored in a big garage and only used a couple times a year. New engines (454's) have only 40 hours on them. The only thing original are the blocks.

I think you are fine. An overnight low of 25* is nothing to be worried about. It'll be 25* for a couple hours before it warms back up. If it was going to be for more than 12 hrs, I would at least drain the blocks.

Man you can never be to care full. Spend the few schillings and put the pink stuff in. Hell it is only a few bucks instead of thousands.

Cant you just pull the upper hose of the water pump to dump AF in?

I think this will get down to the block but not the drive and take about 2 minets with just a flat head driver.

Pardon my thinking but,

Why don't you pull the plugs from the block's and let the water drain out? Exhaust manifolds too!
Be sure and stick a piece of wire in the hole's to clear out the mud and rust that usually blocks the water from exiting. Water will run out when the plugs are removed unless blocked by rust and mud.
If you are concerned about marginal time under freezing or a weatherman that gets paid the same for a bad forecast, Just Drain it and don't worry.
Your power steering fluid cooler, engine circulation pump, water pump are not protected BUT they have rubber hoses attached that expand. Your goal is to protect the Major components for worst case.
Anti-freeze is ok but engine thermostat must open before it protects the block. Remove water and nothing can be damaged period. The block or metal does not sustain damge from cold weather or freezing. Damage is from water expanding as it freezes.
We get back and forth weather in Dallas. Beautiful then a freeze overnight.
