I've notived unless they are c-channel (thanks sydwayz) most only have the outer straight-bunk which like biggus described, was a pita to load for our baja. the trailer would get crooked & then it never seemed i could get the back to sit just perfect on those 2" beams. If it had a Vchannel, it would help align it when pulling on.

No - mine doesn't have them in the rear. It does have them in the front. I have never had any trouble sticking mine, because the front guides it in and the bunks are beveled to fit the boat so it really sits on their nicely. I think HI-TECH did a nice job on it.

Good info...and sorry for your bad experience. We've been fortunate not to have any really bad ones...yet.

The ones I'm familiar with are for 20-30' runabouts, and selection is usually done on cost. As you said, you get what you pay for.

I have a Ace and am very happy with it. The one thing I do know is I have to float it on and it will line up perfect, if I do it under power it will end up crooked.

I've had a few. South Florida Trailers, Myco, Manning, Seahawk, Fastload, Magicfloat, and a couple more I can't remember.

Personal choices top three: Manning, South Florida, Myco

I have a Magnum and am very impressed. Very stout... welded, not bolted. Good design making loading and unloading very easy. Not sure about true price as it was part of boat purchase but sales agreement has it listed as $7k for triple axle with disc brakes and LED's.

I bought a new HI- TECH triple axle trailer in June, pretty nice trailer, disc brakes on all three axles.

What do you look for in an aluminum trailer to determine the good from the bad?
