That was the place I saw many "races" in the intercoastal there. I drove my first Scarab there it was cold and we wore sport coats and fought over who was Crocket and who was Tubbs! Fun times

My friends and I would go skiing every weekend behind Yacht Club Estates or Paradise Island. When we'd hear the boat roaring, we'd race to the intercoastal to see them go by.
We have a Scarab Sport right now with some big outboards. Wife knows wha the next boat will be. When we get it, i plan to gather alot of load boats for periodic running like the old days. |

The Violater days and Greenstreets were some big fun! Still have the recipe for the Rumrunners that squirrley Shirley served us. Did many 100+ mph flyby's in the narrows there from my STV to the bigger Motion boats I built later on......
Jay Btw, Parker give me a call.. |
I might have some pics of Violator and a couple of others from 1982-86 if I remember correctly. Taken from condos across Gulf Shore Blvd. in Indian Shores/Indian Rocks Beach Sandcastle II and III. I'll see if I can find, scan and post early next week...

This old girl still tears the waters up in those parts and sounds great as ever.
