Default Replacing Bellows

I am replacing my gimble ring,helmet and bellows tonight and was wondering if the bellows adhesive was necessary or if I can use RTV??

Bellows adhesive is not necessary but using any form of silicone would be a mistake. Silicone is slippery and the bellows will slide off even with the clamp. You're better off using nothing than the RTV. Also on the shift cable little steel clamp they give you, throw it away and use a wire tie.

Auto Supply should have 3M rubber adhesive aka contact cement .... I think its a white tube with red letters ...... instead of letting it set before contact install the bellows with it wet .......m

Use the bellows adhesive per the instructions. Either merc original or the sierra copy cat. NOOOOO RTV!!!
