Jacksonville ??????
I will be in Jacksonville Friday till Wed. I'm staying at the Jacksonville beach Holiday Inn Resort. This is a family trip and visit and I will have some type of boating available. Any suggestions on must do or must see. I head to the Keys once a year for the races and vacation so this isn't my number one choice of places (southern) to go but I need to make the best out of it. thanks, Scott

Jax boating
Being at the beach you can put the boat in at the Beach Blvd.ramp.If you want to stay on the coast you can go north up the Intercoastal waterway to the river, at that point you can go 3 directions.East to the ocean to cruise or fish around the jettys etc. North up the ICW you can go to Fort George inlet,It's about 3or4 miles north of the river to the waterway that takes you by the Kingsley Plantation to the inlet. On the inside of the barrier islands are sandbars and shoreline where boaters go to stay overnight or party daily on the weekends. We have alot of fun there but it is salt water.Don't try to navigate the inlet east of the A1A bridge,it has a changing bottom and shoals.
East on the St. Johns will take you to downtown Jax.The Landing is a good place to go for food and intertainment, across the river on the southbank is alot of eat and party spots like Rivercity Brewing Co.Mmmm Mmm If you are up for the long run and want to go to the Glenn it is 90 miles south on the SW corner of Lake George. If you need any local advise or have any trouble give me a call 813-8201 or 7104686 and may i can point you the right direction.Have a good trip. Lonnie

Thanks for the response, I just found out that I will NOT have a boat available
Anyone know of a rental place?
I like the kind of places mentioned that are on the water and have docks. So I can always drive to them relax have a cocktail and watch the boat traffic. Scott
