What about "decibel" to test exhaust noise?

I wouldn't think the I phones mic can handle much level.

You can get cheap hand held spl meters at radio shack. Like the one that you use to set up your home theater levels, they can do both "A" and "C" weighting.

I use Navitronics US WEST, and EAST LAKES. Cant remember what they cost but they even work on the Ohio to show bouys. As far as weather goes I LOVE the Weather Channel. You can also make a link from Safari on your home page to www.crh.noaa.gov to view your local hydrographs

Don't have a link, but I do have a screencap.
You can probably figure out why.
