Default Bravo 1 knocking

After doing a bunch of T&E on my engine, I think I can conclude that I have a knock coming from my drive. Not sure where it is, I've read through all the posts, it goes in and out of gear perfectly, no performance issues at all, I will inspect upper unit, based on previous posts with same problem, I might need a new kit, how much of a chance am I taking running it until problem is resolved?

a bad gimble bearing will make a knocking sound.... if it is that, and you are running, and it lets go completly, it will rip everything up inside cost a lot more to be fixed and cut your rubber boot between your gimble ring and outdrive... then you start to sink!!!! just my experience

I just had it serviced two weeks ago, bummer. He said my drive looked perfect.

couple of questions:

I thought a gimbal bearing problem was a growl when turning? This is definitely a knock, all the time, in or out of gear. So how can it be the drive if it out of gear?? It sounds like it's right where the transmission is, but I can also feel it knocking when I place my hand on the top plate of the drive. Not sure if its vibration resonating or if that is where the problem is.

Coupler maybe?

thanx for the patience, I'm learning slowly the hard way.
