Was it running or did it still have the motor out? He had an issue with it hesitating and I said to get the injectors cleaned or changed....... didn't do it and had some problems when getting ready for this season.......

I use an FX-11 Fortress to hold a 12,000 lb/38' Formula with very good results. Fortress rates its anchors based on holding cruisers, so you can't really go by their chart. I called them and tallked to a VERY helpful tech rep before getting mine. Sound like you have an FX-16, which is way more than you really need. Even an FX-7 would probably hold well on any moderate day. No anchor weighs less for a given holding power than a Fortress. Make sure that your chain is not over-rated; that will add more weight to your graound tackle setup than any anchor will. Check out the mesh anchor/rode bags, too - they help a LOT.

I use an FX-11 with about 5' feet of chain and the rest line and works just fine. I bought a small box anchor for a second anchor and cant wait to try it based on all the positive comments I hear about them.

I think I am gonna try the small Fortress... My current one holds like I was tied to a building..... A small one should hold me on calm days.... Thanks guys......

I have the same problem with a medium on a 24' boat.
