Well...Well...Well........Now everybody is upset...Our bible says we can own slaves...So you "holy rollers" better back track fast...If you support "your god" then you MUST support his laws..Those laws are written and are to be followed...If you disagree then you are defying god....But if you do own a slave then you better not kill him instantly because you will be in trouble with god...but if you torture him slowly over a couple days and he dies then its OK...You MUST also follow this law...god wants the slaves to suffer before death..........Lets also not forget the Indians...All we did to them was kill most of them and take thier land...Thats all...And they were payed back in some pathetic programs by people that were never part of the"Indian killers"....Kinda like the slavery suit...You "typical Americans" want it both ways...well you better choose gods way or you will burn in hell....sorry suckers...you are stuck with these laws forever..

SC,
What the hell are you rambling about now. This is about one particular lawsuit.

The topic isn't even about slavery, whether it's right or wrong, etc. It's about frivilous lawsuits and how ridiculously preposterous it is to surmount a legal battle over something that has been long over with and how silly it is to hold a company liable for something that happened centuries ago, which by the way, at that time was legal. Period! This is not about God, the devil, religion of whatever. Sheesh!!!

RonP, LMAO

Baja.......just pointing out that all of you belive in god yet are against slavery...most of you need your double standards pointed out...most of you make decisions about how to conduct your life....but... your god ALREADY made those decisions for you...but you still act in defiance of him....

Really ... it wasn't THAT long ago ... hey, the Constitution is only a little over 200 years old ... and slavery was legal until 13th amendment in 1865 ... that was only a 137 years ago.

SC,
Be careful how loosely you throw around the terms "your god" and "you." Don't make hasty judgements...

I agree though, You are right...However, it's tangential at best.

From the article: "...between 1790 and 1860..."
In addition, I don't think there is anyone alive today or for quite some time now who might have been involved.

If something like this actually makes it to trial and wins , that is another notch that our country falls. I believe that the Lawyers and politicians will bring this country down.
Come on people winning millions of dollars because they got lung cancer from smoking .DUH !!
Criminals getting money because they got hurt while breaking into a house !
Gun manufactures getting the blame for people getting shot. The list goes on , I try to live my life without paying too much attention to these things because it frustrates me too much. Probably not the right thing to do but it works for me.
I was once told that the US has 1/3 the population of the world and 75% of all the lawyers in the world. Why ,because they can make a buck off of decent hard working people.
I read a book a while ago , it was called "Atlas Shrugged " by Ayn Ryan , yes it has a strange name and it was written a while ago but you can see the parallelism with what is happening in the world today. If things don't change it is going to get real bad. I highly recomend this book.

Okay I will shut up now

That article just got me riled up!
