Steps or no steps, boats today are traveling at blistering speeds. 1000+ hp engines are commonplace... Accidents can/will happen, regardless of design. Only thing manufacturers can do now is a post mortum to help prevent deaths but at these speeds the boats could theoretically dysintegrate... Just watch the Hydros....

I remember when my sister ran 190 mph in Byrd's boat... They called me laughing when she was getting strapped in the cockpit, I said WTF is she doing... I didn't hear from them for two hours so I called several times and didn't get an answer so I assumed the worst..... Luckilly I got a phone call moments later that everything went well and they hit 190 mph....

Afterwards I told my sister I thought she was a insane for getting in the boat but this is what she enjoys and she "assumed the risk."

The first 37' built was just down the river from my marina.... Doesn't Tom FTM own it and has #5's now?

I wish them a fast recovery. I know that this wasn't their first fast boat and they have been into speed and racing for awhile. This was along project which started over a year and a half ago. I just found out about it yesterday when I spoke with the engine builder.

A friend of mine. He knows his stuff, no batch firing here all BIG Stuff, custom injector plates, Whipple dual stack intercooler. I sent him 3 of them he modified them to work with the PSI properly, Art Whipple, was scratching his head wondering how it was done. Dustin, e-mailed me quoting he was years beyond anyone eles in the marine market. I was going to post this build along time ago, but he never sent me the build sheet, soI didn't want to speak from my butt, I can tell you only what I know for sure. Ask Mike F, from Outerlimits how they were, they tried to fail his build, because he comes from drag racing. QUEST RACING, his name is Mike, he did work for David Scott, and Sterling. No one mentions his work, why I don't know, I guess the credit for what is done right, doesn't go to the proper person.
