Default Blower question

I have a B&M 177 mini blower that I am wanting to put on my 454. Im trying to consider all the problems I will run into while installing it. I think I have just about everything covered except for the water outlet on the front of the intake where a thermostat normally goes. Mine has the mercruiser block with a few lines going to the exhaust manifolds.

It doesnt appear to me that this will fit. Does anyone make anything to solve this? Or is there another way around it?

TIA !

Thanks Smurf!

hmm, thats cool, Ive never seen those before...

That offset allows you to run the rest of your factory mercruiser plumbing?

Is that what you are running MrBIII ?

excellent! As far as I can tell that should be my last issue as far as installation. My engine only has less than 8 hours on it so I should be in good shape there...

I wonder if the factory thunderbolt ignition should be upgraded? Its the factory 330 hp ignition, any thoughts?

Thanks for the input!

Can I run my factory mercruiser thermostat housing with this piece?

It doesnt look like it is offset enough to run the mercruiser thermostat housing with all the lines running to the exhaust manifolds.

I just hate to spend $130 if it wont work!

Im trying to make this as much a direct install as possible.

Thanks for all the help.

Try calling "The Blower Shop" they do all the repairs and rebuilds of B&M blowers and should have the correct piece for the 177 which is a straight piece that kicks it forward and over about 4: to clear the blower snout. They probly have it in a used piece at a discount. Your ign. should be fine. That blower only puts out around 5 lbs boost max. Good to wake up a stock engine. I ran 2 of them for awhile then went to the 250's for a little more umph. Get the right bottom crank pullies. If you don't have them I have one set left over.

You need to run less total timing so look for a tbolt v-6 module with only 14* total advance. You stock v-8 module will probably have 24* which puts your idle timing to low. Set the total at 30* and you will be close to good.

When I did my upgrades one problem I missed was the pulley ratios. I needed to change the water pump pulley to a different size to match the new v-groove/rib combo blower pulley. I kept thowing belts and replaced everything on the front of the engine before it dawned on me the problem.
