Any plans to run the boat with race gas and break the 185mph with 93oct speed? Seems like 200mph is right at your grasp with only a few things needed. |
Ran a 46 skater in the 190's ...don't need to do it again

Joe, I realize this thread is about MTI vs Skater and agree about the lanyards.... BUT, lets be honest... Do you ALWAYS wear life jackets when you take your Skater for a blast???? Yea, I agree, its the right thing to do but from a practical stand point you and I know that it just does not happen.... By the way.... A 36 With 1075's.... That must be a smoken combination.... How fast have you seen?????
it does run well. 163 is a real number. it has more, and you certainly wouldn't notice losing a bit of accelleration, running a larger prop. i just haven't felt the need to do it. it's on rails now at 150-155mph, and that's fast enough for me (and my insurance program). i'm running a progressive pitch prop.... meaning, it's smaller pitch at the hub, and as the boat accellerates, and the prop comes more and more out of the water, running more and more on the tip/edge of the prop, the pitch increases. the last 'tweak', we cut the diameter by 1/8 of an inch, and.. wow, what a difference. joe |
