Cool

DON what took you so long to switch over. I have had cable for a few months now. Have you done a speed test yet? I run at 1.9 meg on a good day and 1.5 meg on a bad day. Also before you do anything else do you have a firewall? If you dont turn the computer off and go get NORTON firewall it works great. I have people trying all the time to get in using trojen horses and back doors.

Once I worked out the bugs on mine it's been great! Now if I could only get them to be more reliable with the connection at: New Jersey Outboards.

A firewall is used to prevent unauthorized access to your computer when you are on the internet. It also protects your personal information. There are many different ones available. I just happen to use Norton Personal Firewall by Symantec as listed above.

Thumbs down

Seriously DON shut off the computer and go to best buy and get NORTON FIREWALL before you do anything else...... Since I switched to CABLE you wouldnt believe how often other computers are trying to gain entry into my computer. The firewall will alert you and block the intrusion. PLEASE PLEASE believe me....

Zone Labs has one of the best firewalls and they have a free version that works just fine. Here is their web site for the free download.

Jim is right about the zone lab firewall. It works fine and it’s free. You don't want to be online until you get one.
