This is by far, THE BEST post I have ever read on OSO! Great job Payton for getting it started.
Happy Easter!
Just back from church this morning, very big crowd. A warm welcome to our servicemen and women who recently returned from deployment.

And for our Jewish friends and members, Happy Passover.

Someday, I'll understand the meaning behind Passover.

For today is God's day to be reunited with his son.

Happy Easter to all.

Ron P. I'm no biblical scholar but here is the short version.

This is Old Testament stuff

God told the Pharoh of this town (can't remember the name) that if he did not bow to God he would kill all the first born males in his town. In order to save the ones who did bow to God, he told them to put the blood of a lamb on the archway of their doors and they would be Passed over when God came to take the firstborn. Hence the word "Passover".

Kinda rough but I think it is correct.

Happy Easter:D

Passover

"Passover" is the rememberance of the night in Egypt when the Angel of Death "passed over" the Jewish households (that contained the blood of a lamb on their door). The Angel of Death did not "pass over" the Egyptian households, but entered and killed their first born male child.

The next day Mosus and the Israelites left Egypt for the Promised Land.

This relates directly to Christians. Jesus is the Lamb of God, and we are saved from "Death" by his blood and his sacrifice.

The "Last Supper" was actually the Passover Feast. Have your local church conduct a Passover Feast one evening. It will open your eyes to what Jesus was doing during the Last Supper.

Thanks guys. So let me ask.

The last supper must have been after the evening of passover?

Why was it called the last supper and how long was that before his death on the cross?

Happy Easter everyone.
