I cant tell you how well the construction is..but the finish was done very nicely..at least the 2 Hallets I checked out. The materials used were not up to my standards but the price was fair..and everything was straight and executed properly. How they ride..no clue..the door..not for me..the less penetrations through the hull..the better.

I have seen it in person a few times. IMO it would be great to have on the west coats inland lakes. It is actually fairly large door and constructed great. Someone mentioned mold growing in the cabin...not on the west coast.

I get that, but would you rather have sand on your deck or in your cabin?

In the cabin! You can vacuum sand from a cabin and you can't vacuum scratches from your deck paint or gel coat. :D

A woman would tell you that she'd never get near your deck again if you got sand in her cabin. :D :D

Definitely for inland lakes -- and best suited for WESTERN boating. Is a great convenience feature when beaching for a rest or a day.

Also, and I may be wrong -- but I'm pretty certain that the GIBSON MTI has one of these doors.
