Floating boat lift - Am I nuts?

In front of the house, I have 3.5-4 feet of water with 15 feet of mud under that. Because of the mud a conventional lift wont work, track system wont work, hydro hoist needs 5 feet, an air bag inflatable lift would work but I am skeptical. I can't use a system w/ piling because it will be taken out by the ice each year. The only thing I found that will work is a sunstream floating lift. The problem is, the lift will cost more than I spent on the boat. Am I crazy?

Jet Dock will work. I know of a jetdock that supports a 46 OL with out any trouble.

Thanks, Just called them. I need 6 feet of water at the stern for it too work.

considering the cost of a lift for a 33ft boat why not just spend a little more and get the area where the lift will go dredged out? Then you could use any kind of floating lift you want.

I have a hydrohoist and at low tide its less then 4ft and the potoons sit in the mud and its on a slant because the other sid e is in deeper water. Dont have any problems with it at all. A bit scary the way it goes up in the beginning but got the hang of it.

this makes the most sense. was thinking the same thing.

When i spent $25k on my boat, i thought a $12k lift was crazy too. That's why i went w/ the airdock. Worked fine.

I got lucky, found mine on the lake from someone loosing their slip,
$1000 and $500 to have it moved and installed in my slip.
Then again my boat isnt worth much more than $5000 so
I guess its all relative! :-)
