It's definately a twin engine, you can see the tie bar in the pics. My guess is it was a 35 on a nice Myco blue steel trailer. Can't tell for certain, but since it's still somewhat on the trailer; it looks like it took a pretty solid collision to rupture a tank and create that damage. I don't know where the fuel tank access caps are on that boat, but it may have just compromised said cap; which would make sense close to the batteries. It ripped the winch right off the stand of the trailer--another example that the just the winch connection is not good enough; as you should have a safety chain and/or forward bow straps--NOT that it would have saved the boat, just emphasizing that the winch was ripped clean off.

I know the boat and owner. I've not been able to talk to anyone, was anyone hurt?

If the pickup that is involved was indeed the tow vehicle they might have some issues with insurance. It appears to be only a 1500. I figure the boat/trailer must weigh 12-13K, which no 1500 that I know of is rated to tow. Just glad everyone is ok.

Either way if it happened to be a 35, a 1500 truck should not be pullin it down 75 period.... My 32 on the trailer & half full of fuel is over 10,000lbs weighed it myself

From what a cop friend told me they where on the way to Put-In Bay and swerved to miss someone and still hit another car. The boat came around and partially came off the trailer on top of a car and the fire started. Noone was hurt, but alot of vehicle and boat carnage. There's alot of construction there and it has a lane shift from 3 to 2 lanes. There's an accident every other day there.

Wow. I know the boat and owner very well. Glad he wasn't hurt. He just put new engines in that thing less than a month ago.

Not picking a fight, but wanna bet?

On the trailer, full of fuel, full water tank, and all your gear, anchors, tools, spare parts, condoms, handy wipes; etc etc.

Fountain website says late model 42-Twin weighs 11,400 dry. Then add fuel and all of the above and at least 2000 lbs. for a trailer.

Run through the scales and you will be surprised.
