Thumbs up Big Shout out to Bob Madara!!

Bob helped me put together my 540's and today all the hard work paid off. We have only dyno'd one, but it made 721hp @6250 and 652 lb/ft (not sure where). I'll get the dyno sheets on Monday. I will say this: the dyno room temp was 104 degrees during the testing... and damn it was hot!!! We use outside air to simulate actual conditions and ran 93 octane the whole time.

A quick rundown:

Gen VI block
Eagle rotating assemb
SRP pistons, 10.5 cr actual
HM 14 quart offshore pan
ATI balancer
AFR cnc'd 315's
World Merlin X manifold
Pro Systems Dominator
Bob's special ground Hyd roller
Morel High RPM lifters
Comp Cams alum roller rockers (copy of Crane golds)

That's all I can think of, but I wanted to give a special thanks to Bob himself. He engineered this project and was spot on on power!! All parts he provided showed up exactly when he said and according to my schedule. In conclusion, he was a pleasure to work with and I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone no matter how big or small the project. His intelligence and understanding is second to none.

Very cool--

Bob is a very knowledgeable and awesome guy to work with.

I owe him a post like this, but I am going to jump on yours for now !!!

He spec'd out some cams for me and they are incredible !! What matters most to me is how the boat runs thru the midrange. I have acceleration like never before !!! Everybody tries to go for the big horsepower numbers, but how often do you stay at top rpm/top power?? What matters in the boat is how fast it gets up to that top end rpm. This is where Bob's cam designs shine !!!

And just for the hell of it I'll give you my numbers too.

540 ci, 800 hp at 5700 rpm and 900 ft lbs at 3000 rpm !! With a little boost to help of course and it idles like a stock motor.

THANKS BOB !!!!!!

Congrats on the numbers! That's a strong 540!

Bob's the best when it comes to valvetrain for sure! He designed my entire top end package when I refreshed spring '07 and I could not be happier. Blower motors that idle like a stock 525 and pull like mad up top!

I think that anyone building a serious boat motor would be foolish not to talk to Bob.

Bob was waaay off on his hp calculations for my last 2 motors he spec'd cams for,one he said would make 950 hp and it fell short at only 945hp. The other one he claimed would make 1100,was waaay off at 1115 hp,I'm not buying any more cams from him until I need one,Smitty
