Cool, I'd say I'll keep an eye out for ya but I guess it really can't be missed!!! I'll be out sunday trying to break 80....try not to run me over :drink:

Great choice in color and cockpit layout. One of my new favorites. Anything new from Sterling under the hatch?

I like the MTI boats but arent they skater copies??

No, the two brands really couldn't be more different. MTI's have different patterns on their sponsons, as well as step positions, and the majority have the same sponson & tunnel widths, where Skaters tend to vary from boat to boat. They have completely different cockpit layouts, decks, layup schedules, as well as constuction techniques than Skater.

Skater has been around a lot longer than most Cat companies, so it probably goes without saying that some ideas on ALL cats "might" have been inspired by a Skater at some point. There isn't enough similarity in the actual design to call any of the copies though.

I'm in or around 5 MTI's every weekend, 4 of which are their newest designs.

Outerlimits has been extending their transoms for awhile. It's tough to find two Skaters that share the same overall design, since their decks are all handmade, and can be made to look however the customer wants as a result.

Outerlimits has been doing that since 2003 on the 51, it helps with noise, fumes, and also helps reduce drag.

Mines is the third 42' built and is dated 2000.

The first and second I think Tommy Bahama and Team Virgin boat each had bustles also. TB had the rudder set up at the end of the bustle.

That sounds great, they are calling for ran on Saturday but Sunday is suppose to be nice. Any idea or time you can give us when you might be on the Detroit River. I really love to see and hear your boat making a couple of passes on the Detroit River I will try to make it a point to be out there, just need an approximate day and time. I am sure that there would be a lot of others who would also love to see your boat. Thanks

Catmando 08-20-2009 05:54 PM

GLH I though your boat is a 39? TB is 44 and Virgin is 42. At least I think that's right...
