I have had State Farm for over 20 years. I'm on my third boat with claims on two which were paid promptly and fairly. No auto claims but Mother Nature did $20K hail damage to my house. Again prompt resolution. Just make sure the total value insured is more than enough and double check personal injury coverages.

SF required me to have a survey to show a value. I believe this is the case for boats over 10 years old.

I think it depends on the agent/underwriter whether or not they will do agreed values. It was never a question with my agent. He just asked what amount I wanted the boat (80k) and then the trailer (8k). He then gave me deductable options. That was it. I went with a $1000 deductable. My rate is $538 per YEAR!

They were aware that my Hydrostream did 90+ MPH and they insured me. I think my premium for full coverage was about $500 and I made a claim once for a sportmaster lower unit that hit an underwater obstruction. They paid out $2700 with nothing but an estimate and a written statement.

This year, my Superboat premium is only $193 for liability only. I told them it does 75 MPH. I need to get a Survey done to get full coverage since the hull is a 1979.

Yes you should. Very good prices and excellent service. I had a 1988 Z33 that they insured for $750 per year. Had the 365s and B1s. A little massaged inside but not outside:D
