I would expect no statement less from a salesman. However, you base this on what? I have real world experience with both and believe them to be comparable.

The 33 AVS has a SUCESSFULL F-2 racing history and has been described by one of the best in the biz, Bob Teague, as having OUTSTANDING rough water performance. To quote his review in Powerboat, "it acts like a 43' boat. We ran 80mph in 4' to 5' junk with no problem. It carried nicely across the slop, flew level and recovered well".

Can you post what yr /mon/ PB mag it was I would like to read it, I thought boats had to be 35'or bigger for f2 and thats why most ran 37s, 38s or 39 foot boats. I have most of the PB mags so it would be nice to look back and read it. I thought the 38 larry smith boats ran sweet, I had a 90mph ride in one this summer :coolcowboy:. cool boats. my friends ran in f2 with a 99 formula 38 from 99 to 02 and a 02 to 04 or 05. maybe they let the smaller boats run when the class 1st started???

The 32 Hustler is a great boat for the Great Lakes. I run mine in Lake Ontario only. It's a short season, so you better have something that will handle the water. The 32 definitely does. Traditional deep V design with notched transom. High free-board cockpit and good size cabin with enclosed head. Never fails to impress passengers with the ride and handling.

You also may want to consider a Hustler 344 Cheetah. Similar to the 32, but with stepped hull and molded in swim platform.

Also peek at the 34' Magic, it was an old Aronow hull.

What kind of head clearance do you have in the cabin? And do you know what a 32 would run with 500s in it?

Powerboat reviewed the 33 AVS twice, once in Feb 98, once in Feb 99. Both times it received excellent reviews. They also awarded the 33 AVS "Powerboat Offshore Performance Boat of the Year" in 98.

As far as F2 goes, (who knows what happened with so many rule and organization changes) at the time I was racing the 33 AVS was being run by a couple teams, the criteria was based on weight, and running 500HPs with Bravo drives. If I recall right, at the time, the min length was 30 ft. We are going back 10 yrs.:eek:

Smurf my 32 Runs 81/82 with 502/550's. Cabin head room is about 5'5'' or so. Its a notch transon on my 32 not a step also.

If you can get your hands on an Activator, I think it's a 32 or 33, it's a great boat.

353 Formula is worth consideration as well.
