I just read in the power boats mag about the OL 48' Cat with 1300 Teague EFI's running 161mph then turn a few pages and read the Nor-tech 50' with 4-1100's running 166mph

5mph with two more engines... That sounded cost effective.

3 engines is not the best set up and I wonder why they do that???

simple... say 3 700's are 2100 hp... 2-1075s are 2150hp.. the 700's will live a lot longer between rebuilds and hopefully be less troublesome. But when something does break, you running a 1400 twin as opposed to idling forever to get back.

Seth,

Did any of you guys go out and run with him? He told one of the sales guys at Island Cove that it ran 150+. That's a big a$$ boat for our lake. Who owns it?

That boat might be able to do 125 if you take everything out of it and put a pro at the sticks. 115 is more like it with average load. My buddy went out on that boat after he redid it I wont say restored because it wasn't. They had 2 guys and 3 skinny stripers 1/2 gas and a cooler,My buddy said at 5600 rpm the speedo said 108.

LOL... everyone likes to exaggerate.. From his own mouth the boat gets really squirrely and hard to handle over 100mph so I'd say it needs to go back to outerlimits to get that worked out.

Maybe he hides below the wheel over the hundred mark and looks up at the angle and thinks it says 148

We have a 37 OL on the chesapeake with big power. Never been on it but word around the block says 118mph and HOLD ON for dear life
