19 to 21 pitch guys
 

OK I have a 87 223ls alpha put a 19 3 blade on it and am having 5000 rpms when trimmimg out.. How many think a 21 will be perfect ans still be at high 50s

It sounds like the 19 is where ya want to be. The 21 will lower your rpm's too much, and reduce the acceleration .

Saw your post on another site also. You said you have a 454/330 with an alpha, so that's means your RPM range should be 4200-4600 at WOT. I would run a 21p 3 blade, or at least try one. It should bring your RPM down to 4600 where you should be and probably add a couple mph. A boat I had last year had a 350/alpha and came with a 19p, my WOT was 4900 rpm so I tried a 21p Mirage Plus, my rpm was 4300, so I tried a 21p Stiletto and brought my rpm back up to 4500, about 100 rpm short of where I should have been. I ran it the rest of the year and loved how it handled and had great bite. Oh, it also added about 6 mph over the 19p. Actually I still have the prop if you're interested, 14.25x21p Stiletto stainless with solid hub, I sold the boat with the 19p.

got the 21 Solas 14.5 dia. I will test this weekend and see what it does. Local prop guy said 21 should put me right were I want to be
