Default Skater boating, Labor Day wknd, Boca Grande, FL

This Labor Day weekend, we took the Skater to Boca Grande beach on Sat.

We left from the lift behind the house, on the Myakka river about 10:00am, and traveled South down Charlotte Harbor, and then turned West to Boca Grande Pass, out into the Gulf, and then North to a quite spot on the beach.

After several hours on the beach with fish swimming and jumping all around us, and several pods of dolphin, we began to head back. It was a 58.7 mile round trip, and I burned 25.3 gallons of 93 octane fuel. That’s 2.285mpg.

Here are some pictures, enjoy.

Always glad to share pictures.

The 300XS motors, hardly 'suck' any fuel at all. AT wot I burn about 25 gal per motor per hour. Thats a total of 50gph at 100+mph, so different that my last boat with monster big block and super chrgers.

You do suck!! I do the same run all the time and I burn 50 gal. 25 a side.
We left the house and ran down to Fort Myers Saturday around noon. It was great running south but we got blasted in the river. and all the way home. The boat is still wet.

Welcome back!.

Mark & Darcy (son-in-law and daughter) were down for the wekend, and they are due for in about 25 days, first for them, and our first grandchild. They both have done some FMO events with me, in the past.

This weekend was all about family time. My wife Nancy , Darcy and a few others drove to the beach where we had anchored the boat, and all had a great time.

Love that tunnel view, Frank. I would be cool to mount a camera there and see that view at speed...
