Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run 2002 Update - Worlds Largest Poker Run Grows Larger

Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run 2002 Update
Worlds Largest Poker Run Grows Larger

Plans to add Las Vegas Style Casino Night to benefit Children's Charities
Lake Lanier Island, GA - - What do you do when you have a Poker Run that is already billed as the Worlds Largest? "We make it bigger," said Barkley Geib, Event Producer for the Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run. It seems difficult to do that, when the event, in its ninth year, has sold to capacity with over 306 entrants last year alone. Now, Geib says, they are making the event more spectator friendly, with an even larger boat show, and a Las Vegas Style Casino Night to benefit Children's Charities in the Greater Atlanta Area. Both events are open to the public.

The 2002 Lanier Harbor Marina Poker Run kicks off the weekend of August 8th - 10th, just one mile north of Atlanta, Georgia on beautiful Lake Lanier Islands. Hosted at the Emerald Point Resort, participant entry for the weekend is only $150.00 and includes souvenirs, 2 T-shirts, and 2 tickets to both the Friday Night Casino Night, as well as the Saturday Evening Awards Banquet held at the Emerald Point Resort Amphitheater. Registrations are now being accepted on line at www.pokerrun.com.

"Spectators can join in the fun on Casino Night for only $25.00 per person, and that includes live entertainment and appetizer buffet, along with a cash bar and a chance to win a number of great prizes," says Geib. "In fact, everyone who participates will receive a raffle ticket at the door, with a chance towards the Grand Prize, a 2002 Vespa Motor Scooter, provided by Vespa of Atlanta."

Geib says that all gaming chips will be cashed in for raffle tickets at the end of the evening to claim a bevy of prizes. "We've also lined up an even larger boat show this year, and are now taking reservations for a select number of vendor booths to showcase their products, that don't necessarily have to be related to boating. Since our event is for the All American Family, and benefits a number of local ChildrenÕs Charities and an Abuse Center, it's a win-win for everyone."
