They probably use flash RAM... just like the USB sticks. I would bet you have a loose ground somewhere that's causing them to do funny things.

mangle - that's about what the guy at Autometer said... only he referred to it as ROM - Read Only Memory. Maybe I misunderstood him, too!

Phantom - I thought the same thing... like maybe they have a watch battery as a backup or something, but he said they don't.
