Default Looking to get my first boat!

Well after looking at every possible boat know to man, i found a great little boat for the common student budget. Its a restored mini hawk. I wish i found somethin that i could throw a small block into but this seems a little more economical for a first boat. The boat had a full restoration and got all new parts. The seller stopped the build mid way into the project because he needed the money. All the boat needs in paint and an interior. He was asking 4000 i told him 2000 he said 3600. I still think that is too much and i think 2500-2800 would be fair price for a boat that has no trailer, interior, and needs paint. What do you guys think?

Sounds over priced to me, just my opinion though.

Can I ask what you want it for? Are you looking for something that small or are you just settling?

I think im settling for this, I would love to go faster but this is cheap, small, and the seller is 15min down the road from my shore house. I also like that i can see all the work that he did in his thread. I really wanted a 16 donzi and was gonna throw a 6.0 vortec in it but i cant find a cheap hull. So i think this will hold me over for now

Are you planning on trying to run this in the bay? It is fall and the season for us is almost over, I would hold out and keep looking. It seems high for a small boat that still needs a good amount of work. Also I see that you are in Hunterdon, what is up neighbor?

If it were me, I'd wait a little longer and keep looking, there's no way you'll be happy with a boat that you can't bring a bunch of your friends on with you.

i had a jetski in college and a friend had a pontoon boat. Believe me, we had WAY more fun on that old pontoon boat.

Yeah im in Clinton/Lebanon, I would like to run this in the bay even though it can get messy at time but i think with some tabs ill be able to get home as long as it under 2's. I would like to work on it over the winter and have it ready by the summer. Get my fun out of it and then move on to a bigger boat.
